Hi Anna,
There's actually a new book out that I think will help you. It's by Stanley Greenspan, MD and Ira Glovinsky, PHD, called BIPOLAR PATTERNS IN CHILDREN. It should be available at bookstores or through an online bookstore and you can probably just order it. What's more, you could go to your library and ask them to dig up the article that ran about 10 months to a year ago on Bi-polar conditions. It was in TIME magazine and quite informative. If I recall correctly, it even had resources listed. But, I may be wrong on that. Then, on line, you can try to contact (I think I even have a link to my site) bpkids, which is an on-line support group for parents. I should also have mental health association links on my site in the RESOURCES section and you can always contact the National Institute of Health in Washington DC. Believe it or not, when I've needed information, they've been really helpful.
So....I hope that gives you a start. I wish you all the best with your family. And, please let me know how you're all doing.
